The Secretary General of the Fellowship of Christian Councils and Churches in West Africa (FECCIWA) calls on the Chairman of the Authority of Heads of States and Governments of ECOWAS, Her Excellency Mrs. Ellen Johnson SIRLEAF, and the President of the Commission, His Excellency Marcel Alain De SOUZA to immediately abort the military intervention. He proposed the building of alliance with religious Leaders in the sub region like the Sultan of SOKOTO, His Eminence John Olorunfemi ONAIYEKAN, Cardinal Archbishop of Abuja, and His Eminence Dr. Emmanuel UDOFIA, President of FECCIWA to go and negotiate with the outgoing President of the Gambia, Yaya JAMMEH, to step down to give Peace a chance and allow the elected President, Adama BARROW, to take power on the 19th of January.
